Along with Communion, a reminder! I’m sure you know at least one Pharisee. Perhaps not of the Jewish tradition of Annas and Caiphas, but someone (or some people) who set themselves apart from the rest of us because of how wonderfully righteous they see themselves as being. I’ll get into what a publican was, but suffice it to say that publicans were usually wealthy, almost always unpopular, and probably mostly crooks. And what can we learn from them?
