MORE CONTROVERSY! In the tenth chapter of Matthew, Jesus said that he did not come to bring peace, but a sword. In today’s Gospel reading, he explains what he means. Jesus knew that following him would not be easy. It would come to the point that people would kill Jesus’ followers while thinking that they are serving God!
It does not take much of an effort to see how this might apply today.
